Repetto Men's Shoes

Fallow is the sole stockist of men's Repetto shoes in Australia.

REPETTO was established in Paris by Rose Repetto in 1947. Following a request from Brigitte Bardot, Rose designed a shoe that was just as light and pleasant to wear as a dance slipper, but much more fashionable. With a collection for men and women, Serge Gainsbourg, The Rolling Stones, Catherine Deneuve, and many other artists followed the lead of Bardot and ordered their very own pair of Repetto Shoes.

“Breath - Sculptures in Wool” - by Konstantina Mittas
Breath is the collective name given to this collection by way of the interconnectedness of all living things. It is a celebration of the art forms in nature.

The collection mimics nature, well balanced yet not symmetrical, following the complex algorithms found in flora.

The free flowing continuous design of the pieces is interjected with sharp fractal like pleats. The pleating echoes the arrangement of branches along the stems of plants and of the veins in leaves.

The execution of the designs in wool is the perfect symbolic material to convey the social responsibility expressed in the "Breath" collection. The representation of the
organic approach, wool also co- exists in a technological world. The wool garments move easily within society, unifying unique design with everyday attainability and versatility.

As“Breath” is common to all life. The rawness of the wool reminds us that all things are matter, seemingly so fixed, yet made of substance that returns to the earth.
